Now a retired businessman, Phil was a national award-winning marketer of the U.S. ski and water-park industries. He has written magazine columns, articles, books, and written and produced complete magazines for the ski industry. In recent years, two authorized biographies, a historical fiction novel and other books have tumbled from his keyboard. During that same time he and his wife, Joanne, have presented their LIFE as an ADVENTURE PRESENTATIONS© throughout the midwest. Their approach to LIFE as an ADVENTURE© and their style of humbly-narrated presentation with visuals is quickly contagious. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE – The Verlen Kruger Story, 100,000 Miles by Paddle. Phil was the authorized biographer of this man’s incredible story. It’s been a big hit.
KAYAKING PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND’S GLACIERS – Phil, with his oldest son and their wives, chased wildlife, sealife and glaciers of Alaska for 15 days. Exciting and informative.
INTERNATIONAL FALLS TO LAKE SUPERIOR . . . TWICE BY CANOE. Phil and Joanne paddled this Canadian Border route first in 1965, then again forty years later. At 70 it was a whole new adventure. They plan to do it again.
XC-SKIS, ELY, MN TO LAKE SUPERIOR’S GRAND PORTAGE – A week-long XC ski adventure with misadventures along the BWCA border route with Phil and four friends. Six days and five nights of weather, rain, snow, and 12 degrees below!

ACROSS THE PACIFIC ON A WILD WIND – A presentation from his latest authorized biography, AROUND THE WORLD AND THEN SOME. This presentation encompasses crossing the Pacific from Hawaii to Seattle aboard the Raedeke family’s Wild Wind IV catamaran.
